Today, we visited the Louisville Zoo. :)
The zoo wasn't in our original plans, but Louisville was on our way, and we got in free with our Nashville Zoo membership, and
we only had two hours to drive today anyway.
Anywhoo. We had lots of fun there, though we were pretty worn out by the time we left since it was so large. There were lots of viewing buiildings to walk in and explore, and in the very first one, we were quite shocked. It let you see the giraffes in their indoor stables. Literally, we were no more than two feet away from those giraffes.
Later on in the day, while hiding from the heat in a building, we met this little guy :
He's my new friend :)
I'm pretty sure he wouldn't've given me the time of day if I hadn't been wearing that nail polish, but it was quite an exciting encounter nontheless. Especially since it was a turtle, because I love turtles.
Throughout the rest of the day, we saw plenty more cute animals, our favorites being a fluffy little sleeping owl, a wallaroo with an itchy tummy (which is basically a mini-kangaroo), and a pair of brothers on the playground, one who was about 3 who kept picking up his brother who was about 1 to help him get around. At one point, the little was dropped kinda-sorta on his head, but he must be used to it, cause he just laughed and got right up.
So now, we've been at our hotel for the night for about an hour, and getting here was quite the adventure. We had to deal with crazy traffic through Cincinatti, and then crazy looks from hotel staff because of the sheer volume of stuff the two of us brought.
We actually have quite a nice room tonight, there's the standard two double beds like always, but then there's also a fun little living room with a big couch. We were quite excited :)
But anywhoo, tonight's our night to goof off and have fun, since we aren't busy at a park today. We're gonna watch Gilmore Girls. =)
We'll post again tomorrow, have a lovely rest of the day!
